First Look At Ghostface On The Scream 4 Set

It’s been more than a decade since we saw Scream’s ghost faced, hooded killer on screen but, for those of you who’ve missed him, he’s back. Director Wes Craven is currently hard at work on Scream 4 and he’s tweeting pictures from the set. Just a short while ago he tweeted our first ever look at Ghostface doing his thing on the Scream 4 set.

He’s baack!

Scream 4 takes place ten years after the events of Scream 3. Sidney has put her life together when, of course, that guy comes back. This sequel stars Emma Roberts, Hayden Pantierre, Adrien Brody, Courtney Cox, Rory Culkin, Neve Campbell, and David Arquette.

First Photos From James Gunn's Super

Walking out of Comic Con, some of the best footage that I got to see belonged to James Gunn's Super. Shown on Friday in Hall H, the day when everyone had somewhere else to be other than the Convention Center (there was not a single soul standing in line), the panel revealed the first look at the amateur superhero film starring Rainn Wilson, Liv Tyler, Nathan Fillion, Ellen Page, and Kevin Bacon. Sadly, it will still be a while until they release the first trailer, but, until then, Gunn has us covered.

The director took to his website and has posted the first two stills from the film. The first shows Wilson decked on in his Crimson Bolt outfit, and the second is from early in film when Wilson meets Tyler while working as a waitress. After the two get married, Tyler becomes addicted to heroin causing Wilson to have a nervous breakdown and assume his superhero identity. There is also a video from the panel, courtesy of ScreenCrave, showing Rainn Wilson and Nathan Fillion beating the crap out of each other. Certainly good use of your time.

Check out the photos and videos below.

New Green Lantern Photo Shows Hal In A Flight Suit, Not Much More

The fervor surrounding The Green Lantern is swirling to its peak as production wraps up and the effects-heavy film goes into what will be a long and arduous post-production process. As fanboys anxiously await a trailer, they’ve been kept at bay by exciting photos showing off Ryan Reynolds as the titular spandexed hero, Hector Hammond’s giant, disgusting head and Abin Sur's body in a glass box. Unfortunately, not everything can be that exciting.

The Entertainment Weekly issue that revealed the first image of Reynolds fully suited up in his CGI jumpsuit also sported a few production stills, the last of which ComicBookMovie.com finally got their hands on. Why was it last to make its way to the webs, you ask? Probably because it’s super boring and reveals nothing about the film other than the fact that Hal Jordan is a pilot.

Nevertheless, here’s the picture below which shows Blake Lively gossiping it up with Reynolds. Look for more Green Lantern stuff very soon.

First Banner Poster For Sucker Punch Is Crammed Full Of Awesome

If the trailer was any indication, Zack Snyder's Sucker Punch promises to be one hell of a ride. Taking place inside the mind of a young woman trapped in a mental institution, she and a band of four other prisoners must battle their way to freedom. But what lies in their path is not just doctors and security guards, but German soldiers, futuristic robots, and a world of deep fantasy. That's just what the movie's newest banner tries to get across.

IMP Awards has posted the banner and it is simply all kinds of awesome. Between the five girls armed with machine guns, the huge robot with a bunny painted on it, the World War I era planes and the castle in the background, it all looks simply stunning. Throw in Snyder's artistic direction unburdened by source material and you have a formula here for tremendous success.

UK Poster And Trailer Hit For Mr. Nice

Part nuclear physicist, part school teacher, part spy, ALL dope smuggler, the story of Mr. Nice is somewhat unbelievable but is 100% true. Based on the life story of the nicest man in Britain, Mr. Nice chronicles the life and times of Howard Marks, played by Rhys Ifans, and his exploits as the most notorious hash dealer in the northern hemisphere.

Fittingly, the HeyUGuys Blog across the sea landed this first trailer for the film and not only does it look like a cool bit of zany fun, but Howard Marks himself pops up at the end urging you to check out the movie’s website and join his team. The movie also stars Chloe Sevigny, David Thewlis and Crispin Glover just to name a few.

You may not have much of a chance to see Mr. Nice until it hits DVD at an as yet undetermined time, but for now you can sate yourself with this trailer and poster or just go out and buy the autobiographical book the film is based on if you’re that interested in Marks’ story.

First Never Let Me Go Poster Is Nostalgic, Moody Perfection

Never Let Me Go was recently announced as one of the big-deal premieres that will happen at the Toronto International Film Festival in September, but it didn't take that to know that the movie will be a major player in the fall Oscar season. It's based on the emotional and spooky novel by Kazuo Ishiguro, and stars previous Oscar nominees Keira Knightley and Carey Mulligan alongside Andrew Garfield who, as you may have heard, is about to be kind of a big deal.

The first trailer for Never Let Me Go came online over a month ago, and we're only now getting a look at the film's first poster, which has a similar nostalgic, slightly creepy vibe. It's unclear how much plot description counts as a spoiler-- the movie seems much more open about its central premise than the book is at first-- but suffice it to say Knightley, Mulligan and Garfield play three prep school friends who grow up together into an uncertain future that's totally out of their control. You can watch the trailer to learn more, or to just get a spoiler-free sense of the movie, check out the poster below, courtesy of Fox Searchlight. Never Let Me Go is set for release September 15, just a few days after its Toronto debut.

First Poster For The CGI Live Action Hybrid Yogi Bear

In an interview earlier this month, Bill Murray admitted that the reason he signed on to do Garfield was because he thought he saw Joel Coen's name (Fargo, The Big Lebowski, No Country For Old Men) on the script when it was actually Joel Cohen (Cheaper By The Dozen, Evan Almighty, Daddy Day Camp). Six years down the line I'm wondering what Murray's Ghostbusters co-star Dan Aykroyd will use as an excuse to explain Yogi Bear.

Yahoo! has released the first poster for the adaptation of the classic Hanna-Barbera cartoon, and, if I can make a recommendation, don't stare at Yogi's face for too long. If you do, you start to hear loud, cackling laughter as he steals every positive childhood memory you have of a bear stealing picnic baskets from under the nose of Ranger Smith. It likely won't be too long until we get a trailer for the film, which will probably deliver as many feelings of happiness as last month's Smurfs trailer. And by that I mean none.

Check out the poster below.

Sucker Punch: Official Trailer and Posters

If you weren’t one of the lucky 6500-or-so fans at Comic Con when “Sucker Punch” was sneak previewed over the weekend, you’ll be glad to know the official trailer has just been released.

The high-energy flick stars Vanessa Hudgens, Abbie Cornish, Emily Browning, Jamie Chung, and Jena Malone and promises to have theatergoers on the edge of their seats.

And it sounds like the ladies had quite a time preparing for and shooting the film, as there were some serious physical demands.

Emily Browning explained, "We probably at the beginning all felt like, oh my God, we don't look like fighters. We're kind of all little girls. We trained our asses off -- we worked really hard. We had Navy SEALs training us. We trained for three months, six hours a day. And we got strong."

Green Lantern Character Posters Recite The Mantra

While the first footage wasn't exactly to die for, one of the highlights of the Green Lantern panel on Saturday was when Ryan Reynolds, who plays the titular hero in the film, recited the classic mantra: "“In brightest day, in blackest night, no evil shall escape my sight! Let those who worship evil’s might, beware my power, Green Lantern’s light!” It's the saying that allows Green Lantern to recharge after he's expelled all of his ring's energy and that's exactly what it does to the first round of character posters.

In addition to having the first half of the mantra, it also gives us our first look at Mark Strong as Sinestro (though he's all but unrecognizable under all of the make-up). It's interesting that Reynolds isn't in the suit for the posters, but after the somewhat harsh reaction to the Entertainment Weekly cover and Martin Campbell's comments that the suit isn't done yet, it's not entirely surprising.

Check out the posters below, click for a high-res version of each.

First Look at the New Godzilla!

Legendary Pictures unveiled a first look at the new Godzilla using Augmented Reality at the San Diego Comic-Con. Attending the convention to celebrate the beginning of production on the film, Comic-Con attendees were able to receive a T-shirt with this image of the new Godzilla. When they looked at themselves in a webcam at the Legendary Pictures booth, they saw a superimposed animation of Godzilla's "atomic breath" shooting out into the air in front of them from Godzilla's mouth, complete with black smoke rising from the flames and the ground-shaking bellow of Godzilla's instantly recognizable roar. Talking Dog Studios designed the immersive experience for the film, which Warner Bros. Pictures is targeting for a 2012 release.

Fans Love 'Green Lantern' Footage ... But Where's the Costume?

"Welcome to Sector 2814," says the booming voice of Mark Strong. "The guardians have chosen you for enlistment. But first you must be tested." There was little more than an undulating green orb on the screens of Comic-Con's Hall H, but the capacity crowd sat in rapt attention as the very first footage was screened of The Green Lantern, Martin Campbell's forthcoming big screen adaptation of the iconic comic book series.

The clip was only two or three minutes, and featured just slivers of what one can expect will be epic storytelling. But what was there was nonetheless modestly impressive: Ryan Reynolds plays Hal Jordan, a human initiated into the Green Lantern Corps by Sinestro (the aforementioned Mark Strong). After a montage of images featuring other Lanterns, including some odd (or to fans, oddly familiar) aliens, Jordan seems surprised to discover that he's wearing an emerald-colored ring which, during a scuffle in a vacant lot, manifests a gigantic green fist and lays out three adversaries at the same time. Meanwhile, we also get a few snapshots of other characters in the film, including Peter Sarsgaard as Hector Hammpnd, and Blake Lively as Carol Ferris.

Sadly, there were no shots of Reynolds in the suit, which has thus far received mixed reviews from fans after being revealed on the cover of a recent issue of Entertainment Weekly. (We're confident that as director Martin Campbell later explained, it's a work in progress and will later turn out beautifully, but we hoped that our current concerns had been more immediately allayed.) But the only real problem with the footage was that it was just plain too short, especially since we're extremely excited to see the finished film.

Stay tuned for more specific information from the Green Lantern panel on Cinematical, but in the meantime let us know what you think of the film – whether or not you were lucky enough to join us in Hall H to see the footage!

Sexy 'Sucker Punch' Character Banners Revealed

Last week we brought you the first image featuring the lovely ladies of Zack Snyder's Sucker Punch. Now that Comic-Con is in full swing in sunny San Diego, we're expecting to hear a lot more about the over the top action flick.

To get everyone a little more hyped up for the film (and to appeal to all the guys wandering the show floor ... ) Warner Bros. has released six new character banners. You can check them out in the gallery below.

Each banner features one of the femme fatales from the film: Babydoll (sporting a pistol and katana, and looking like something straight out of Onechanbara), Sweet Pea (sure to appeal to WoW and LotR fans), Rocket, the awkwardly named Blondie, Madame Gorski, and Amber.

The film -- which Snyder promises will be dark, violent, and full of guns and monsters -- stars Emily Browning, Abbie Cornish, Jena Malone, Scott Glenn, Vanessa Hudgens and Jamie Chung. Browning's character, Babydoll, is trapped in a mental institution, about to be lobotomized by her evil stepfather. To cope, she creates an elaborate alternate reality where she must find certain items to escape her fate, and perhaps find clues that can help her get back to the real world.

Sucker Punch is due out next March. What do you think of these banners -- too much cheesecake or not enough?

New Priest Posters Introduce Karl Urban's Black Hat

Paul Bettany has played a traitor Angel and Charles Darwin. He hasn’t been hit by lightning yet, so might as well keep going. In Priest he’ll play a man of the clothe who takes up vampire hunting. Jim Caviezel, meanwhile, was struck by lightning while playing Jesus Christ. I think it’s clear who’s side God is on.

Sony debuted two brand new posters for Priest today at the San Diego Comic Con. Check both of those out below. We’ll update them with a high-res version as soon as it’s available.

The above postered “Black Hat” is a former Christian turned Satanic priest who leads the vampire outlaws being hunted by Bettany’s character . He’s played by Karl Urban. Here’s the movie’s full plot synopsis straight from Sony:

Priest, a post-apocalyptic sci fi thriller, is set in an alternate world -- one ravaged by centuries of war between man and vampires. The story revolves around a legendary Warrior Priest (Paul Bettany) from the last Vampire War who now lives in obscurity among the other downtrodden human inhabitants in walled-in dystopian cities ruled by the Church. When his niece (Lily Collins) is abducted by a murderous pack of vampires, Priest breaks his sacred vows to venture out on an obsessive quest to find her before they turn her into one of them. He is joined on his crusade by his niece’s boyfriend (Cam Gigandet), a trigger-fingered young wasteland sheriff, and a former Warrior Priestess (Maggie Q) who possesses otherworldly fighting skills.

New Let Me In Poster Brings The Blood

Check out the poster below-- it's very cool, very atmospheric, and right in line with what we're seeing from the film. I like that it highlights Chloe Moretz, who may very well be the film's biggest star among this Kick-Ass loving crowd. The "from the director of Cloverfield" tag at the top is a little odd, since this two movies are presumably nothing alike, but again, this is Comic Con-- there are fans for everything here, and Cloverfield is no exception. We'll find out Saturday how well this poster fits in with the footage they're screening, but this should be enough for now to get you in the proper spooky, bloody, vampiric mood.

First Ever Images From Battle: Los Angeles

Sony has just released the first ever images from their upcoming, big-budget, alien invasion movie Battle: Los Angeles. They’ve only released 3 photos so far, with the promise of more to come later today. We’ll have those as soon as they’re available, in the meantime these should get you started.

The movie is exactly what it’s title suggests it to be. Aliens invade and the battle happens in LA. The film follows a marine platoon as they battle their way through the city attempting to fight off the alien invasion. It’s a massively scaled film, the effects should be bigger than anything you’ve ever seen.

Two of the three photos below are character close-ups, but pay careful attention to what’s going on in the bottom right corner of the first one. Yep, that’s your first look at one of the invading alien ships. Click the images below for an even closer look in high-res.
