Paul W.S. Anderson Will Film Every Movie In 3D From Now On

Paul W.S. Anderson is on hand at Comic Con to present footage from the latest Resident Evil, but even now he's knee-deep in preparation for The Three Musketeers, his planned adaptation of the Alexandre Dumas classic. We already know pretty much all of the details-- Logan Lerman, Matthew Macfadyen, Luke Evans and Ray Stevenson are the Musketeers, Milla Jovovich is the sexy lady, Christoph Waltz and Mads Mikkelsen are the villains, and they're filming in 3D. But Anderson didn't hesitate to talk about what he's excited about as he develops the film, primarily about scouting locations in Europe:

We're shooting in Babelsburg in Berlin, because they have the biggest stages in Europe, but we're also shooting on location in Bavaria, where they have these amazing palaces that have just never been put on film before. I can't believe no one has been here with a film camera and shot this place. So for two months we're trekking around these places you've never heard of, shooting palaces you've never seen before. They're going to give the movie and epic, epic look.

Anderson also restated his commitment to using 3D, claiming it's the only way he'll make his films going forward. Resident Evil: Afterlife is being heavily promoted for its use of the same 3D cameras used on Avatar, and Anderson and his stars Ali Larter and Wentworth Miller had plenty of thinly veiled insults to lob at movies that used post-conversion. You may not quite be ready for The Three Musketeers in 3D, but at least it'll be using the best technology available to it.
